One CA relationship, dozens of connected businesses: the practice model

A chartered accountant's practice typically manages books, compliance and advisory for dozens of businesses - sometimes hundreds. Each client has its own company, its own GST registrations, its own bank accounts and its own filing calendar. The practice juggles all of them, usually with a mix of spreadsheets, legacy accounting software and manual follow-ups.

Kinnow's partner model changes this. A CA practice becomes a Kinnow partner and sets up each client on Kinnow. Every client gets the full ERP - all 49 applications, no licence fee - and the practice gets a single portal with every client's data in one view.

The partner portal

A Kinnow partner logs into one dashboard and sees every client business they manage. Compliance status, bank reconciliation progress, pending approvals, overdue filings - all visible without logging into each client's system separately. The partner can open any client's books, review entries, check the GST return and talk to the client's team inside Kinnow.

This is not a view-only screen. The partner can post journal entries, approve transactions and prepare filings within the limits the client has granted. Each client decides what the partner can see and do.

Agents do the repetitive work

The work that consumes most of a practice's time is repetitive: matching bank statements, preparing GST working papers, checking TDS provisions, drafting financial statements. In Kinnow, agents handle the bulk of this. A Bank Reconciliation agent matches transactions as the bank feed arrives. A GST agent reads the purchase and sales registers and prepares the GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B working papers. A TDS agent checks that deductions match the provisions and flags any difference.

The partner reviews the agent's output, makes corrections and approves. The time saved on preparation can be spent on advisory - the work most practices want to do more of but cannot find the hours for.

A practice that grows without growing headcount

In the traditional model, a CA practice grows only by adding staff, because every new client brings its own preparation work. On Kinnow, the preparation is done by agents and the practice reviews it, so each additional client adds far less work than the last.

The reason is plain. A client who gets value stays with Kinnow, and a practice that sets it up well, trains the client's team and sets up the agents correctly keeps that client for years.

The practice scales

With agents handling preparation and a single portal showing every client, a practice can manage more clients with the same team. A five-person practice that today manages forty clients can, with Kinnow, manage sixty or eighty - because the hours spent on bank reconciliation, GST working papers and TDS checking are now spent reviewing agent output rather than doing the work from scratch.

The practice model is not about replacing the CA. It is about freeing the CA to do the work that requires judgement, experience and a relationship - the work that no agent can do.

Frequently asked questions

What does a CA practice pay to become a partner?

Nothing. There is no fee to join the partner programme. Kinnow provides training and help with getting started.

Can the practice manage clients of different sizes?

Every client gets all of Kinnow - all 49 applications, no licence fee and no per-user fee. Each client chooses which agents to switch on.

Does the client see the partner's other clients?

No. Each client's data is kept separate. The partner sees all clients in one portal; each client sees only their own books. Access is controlled by the client.

What compliance is supported for Indian CA practices?

GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9), e-invoicing with IRN, e-Way bills, TDS/TCS, statutory payroll (PF, ESI, PT), and income-tax audit working papers. Agents prepare the work; the CA reviews and files.

Tell Kinnow what slows you down.

Tell us in a sentence. Kinnow drafts a starting plan and a person follows up.
